, Soprano lyric spinto, opera and concert singer. Born in Sudak - Crimea, the family left their homeland when she was two months old and in 1948, after four years in Austria, they settled in Turkey. Alper graduated as a mezzo-soprano in 1963 from the State Conservatory in Ankara where she was a pupil of Frida Böhme, Carlo Galeffi and Maria Carena and was appointed as a soloist within the State Opera in Ankara, taking many leading roles. |

During the summer of 1964, she studied with Prof.Clemens Glettenberg in Munich and in 1966, won a scholarship from DAAD to study at "Die Hochschule für Musik in Köln" with Prof. Peter Witsch. In 1974, Alper went to Rome to study Italian opera at the Accademia Santa Cecilia under Madame Gianna Pederzini's supervision. During this period, as a soprano, she concentrated on Verdi. In the following years she continued her studies with Madame Gina Cigna in Palermo and also attended Sommerakademie "Mozarteum" in Salzburg studying Mozart operas with Maestro Ralf Weikert. Ankara State Opera between 1963-1982 and has been singing in Istanbul State Opera
